Goupil & Cie is pleased to present the second summer edition of “A POP OF ART” to the most thriving collectors of Contemporary Art.
Offered online only, this auction features prints and multiples from Japan’s leading artists including Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara and Kyne. These high-profile artists have received outstanding acclaim both domestically and internationally. Originating from an important private collection, this curated selection of limited edition works exclusively represents a tribute to the Japanese art scene today.
As a creator of the Superflat movement and of subsequent discerned pop culture characters and icons, Taskashi Murakami has marked the world of art over the past three decades. With its singular subversive expression, Yoshitomo Nara has also contributed to the reinterpretation of traditional Japanese images and social codes reflecting the duality and duplicity of modern societal references. Kyne complements this selection. From his graffiti artist’s debut, Kyne’s monochromatic style has found influence from the street culture and pop mixed culture from the 80’s and 90’s to draw emotions and sentiments in simple lines capturing universal expressive aesthetics.
